In 1840, a Liverpool merchant called Charles Hickman bought the abandoned monastery, and transformed it into a factory of ceramic tiles and porcelain china. The AndalusianCenter for Contemporary Art is housed in a former monastery turned ceramic factory which is tastefully integrated into the space of the museum, towering brick kilns and all.
Temporary exhibitions, seminars, workshops, concerts, meetings, recitals, film cycles and lectures are also held at the museum. From a chronological point of view, the collection of the CENTR Analog de Arte Contemporaneous dates from the mid-1950s extending to the present day.

He has exhibited his work in centers such as the Málaga ContemporaryArtCenter (CAC), the AndalusianCenter of Contemporary Art and Initiate Space, and in international fairs like Ballerina Basel, Pint New York, Arc Madrid and Scope London. In 2006, he was selected to take part in the exhibition 16 Projects of Spanish Art during which 25 years of the ARCOmadrid fair were celebrated, and he was awarded with the “Prize for Artistic Activity” by the Junta de Andalucía.
