Perhaps you are looking for a cheap lunch in Lamina or craving an açai bowl in Kira, this guide will help you find the truck. Maui food trucks are the best in the Pacific because they have access to the best farms, and they have the guts to experiment.

You won’t find the selection of cuisine and fresh, local talented chefs anywhere else. The sous' chef of Mother’s Fish House broke off to start food trucks, he has continued to win awards.

Don’t get me wrong, food trucks are the quintessential island vibe. A Maui food truck must offer at least one lunch plate with a side of two scoops rice and mac salad, or it won’t be in business for long.

They can make their own hours, work till the farm-fresh food runs out, or the surf is up. If you are about to drive across the island to satisfy a craving for oxtail bats, I recommend you check their social media or give them a call to confirm they will be there for you.

My rating system is if a single portion or plate will leave you full for the average price. The usual suspects are two-scoops white rice and a scoop of macaroni (mac) salad for Hawaiian, shrimp, teppanyaki, Filipino, and BBQ trucks.

As sides are part of the portion or plate, this goes into my dollar rating system. Going to a Maui food truck park is a low-cost way for a family to eat while offering something for everyone’s taste.

As for dining establishments, Maui County requires food trucks to post their Hawaii Public Health Department food safety inspection report. I always take a peek inside before ordering to see if they have refrigerators, an organized kitchen, and if the stainless steel looks polished and clean.

We study Yelp and TripAdvisor comments and rankings to then write our review. We don’t want you to waste your precious time, money, and Hawaii experience on a bad food truck.

We live on Maui, so we have had the chance to eat at a lot of food trucks. The bright purple, yellow, and green exterior catch your eyes as you walk from the parking lot.

Ono Teppanyaki & Seafood The sister truck, right next to Thai Me Up is Ono Teppanyaki, another truck from Chef Tom Shibuya of Mother’s Fish House. As it can take some time to cook the steak, I recommend you call ahead or relax under the tent for your order to be ready.

Erica ordered garlic shrimp plate with asparagus and two-scoop rice for $13. Finale Grill is on many best of Maui Footrace lists and for good reason.

Favorites are seared AHI, crispy calamari, and garlic shrimp with capers. This truck emphasizes quality over quantity, but you won’t leave hungry.

Finale Grill gets bonus points for serving on paper plates and bowls. The rice comes well seasoned and the pineapple coleslaw with the poke bowls is refreshing.

With same-day caught local fish comes high prices so be ready to spend $18 on your 1/2 lb. Sol Brothers Southern BBQ Located in the KiheiFoodTruck Park, Sol Brothers brings Alabama BBQ to the Valley Isle.

The Nazi Pirates From seafood offerings like fish & chips, fish tacos, coconut shrimp to turf offerings of pork sliders and wings, The Nazi Pirates packs a lot into a food truck. Located in the Kiheifoodtruck park, The Nazi Pirates is a nice place to go for lunch or dinner.

The Nazi Pirates opened truck #2 in Kahului at the Diary Road Food truck park. They used to have a restaurant in the Queen Key’human Shopping Center but have since decided to simplify to only a food truck.

Locals still flock to this place for classic Filipino dishes like pan cit, Lucia, and adobe fried rice. Hoopiilani Footrace Park in Kannapolis A brilliant entrepreneur staked some land and the food trucks came.

8 or so food trucks are located across the street from the Times Market, between Kannapolis and Nail. Food trucks line the perimeter with a few dozen picnic tables and lights strung up overhead, making for a casual and family-friendly vibe.

Head to the Lamina Footrace Park if you Earl looking for breakfast or lunch on West Maui. The closing of the Key’Nepali resorts and hotels was not good for this food truck park.

The Anchor Danilo Liquid El Taco Barracks Thai Food by Sure Ono Tacos Lamina Ono Tacos has become a staple of Lamina sitting at the end of The West Maui Center parking lot.

One has to work hard on Maui to have a competitive fish taco and Ono has risen to the challenge. Enjoy their classic Mexican menu with 10 fresh salsas to choose from.

The brewer welcomes patrons to grab some tacos and come over for a beer (BYOB). Using Ni Jay boy Look for the no-nonsense light blue food truck in the Wiener Street parking lot with a line parked in front of their window around dinner time.

If you crave Filipino street food than head over to Jay boy and try to get a seat at one of the two picnic tables under the awning. Aloha Braised Footrace To get a Hawaiian plate lunch at a great price, head up the hill from the Cannery Mall to the Island Grocery Depot.

Edge Maui Footrace Located in front of Island Grocery Depot, next to Aloha Braised, is a perfect lunch spot for quality Hawaiian dishes. I consider this a healthy food truck do to the portions, vegetables in their dishes, and one-scoop rice or green salad sides.

Thai Food by Sure Look for the red truck at the Hoopiilani Footrace Park. Yoko’s Grind Japanese with Maui local flavor infused.

Yoko’s is located with other food trucks in the 741 Wine’e Street Parking Lot. The servings sizes are fair, you won’t take any home.

Sparky’s Food Company Duke Sparks and his local crew dish out top-notch Hawaiian cuisine on $12 lunch plates. Their featured and fan-favorite items are ANI’s Chicken Bats, Sparky’s Smoked Meat (4 flavors to choose from), and Loco Mock.

The food trucks surround a dozen or more picnic tables under a tent. Gravel lines the parking lot and the food truck and tent area making it only somewhat dusty.

No toilets or washing facilities but lots of seating, parking, and rubbish bins. A perfect place to bring the family after landing in Kahului Airport or on a Costco run as there is food for every taste.

The food truck park is on the same side as the Marriott, look for Kane Wood Fire Grill’s black truck as it is the easiest to see coming from Costco. The food truck parking lot is across the street from the Costco gas station.

Mo’Ono Truck (açai bowls) Gala’s Lunch Box (Hawaiian plate lunch) Taco Food Truck Dino’s Gourmet On-The-Go Delicious food trucks surround the tent at the Costco Footrace Park.

Located under an old gas station cover, you can spot it with its colorful flags welcoming patrons. The famous Get Shrimp Truck has moved from its beachside location to this spot too, helping put this food truck park on the map.

Kraken Coffee Get Shrimp The Nazi Pirate Tsunami Burger Aloha Thai Fusion Sparky’s Food Company The place isn’t too dusty during the summer thanks to the gravel ground.

This is one of my favorite food truck parks on the island as a truck is always open, and they have a diverse selection of food options. From healthy, vegan food at Earth Aloha Eats to southern BBQ at Sol Brothers to refreshing iced coffees and smoothies at Kraken Coffee, you can find something for everyone in your car.
