I was a guest on her ride, not a guide and let me tell you. Horseback riding in the Lake George Area is a large piece of the Original Vacation.

If you want to take a trail ride there are plenty of options in the Lake George Area. Guides who know the trails and horses like the back of their hand ensure that your ride is a safe experience.

Bring your family and ride the wide open trails as a group. Beginners are welcome, and tour guides will make sure you return to the stable safe and sound.

Make a beautiful memory on our trails as you travel through the scenic Adirondack Mountains, crossing streams, viewing wildlife and flowers, and taking in amazing views. We custom tailor every experience for our customers, offering rides to lunch or dinner, girls getaways, corporate outings, overnight camping, and wedding proposals.

Saddle up and join a cattle drive at Stony Creek Ranch Resort! This unique horseback riding experience is all about moving the herd from the north to the south pasture at an authentic dude ranch on the Hudson River.

This 46,283-acre wilderness includes an abundance of lakes, ponds, streams, mountains, and hiking trails that are open to the public. The over 70 miles of hiking trails range from easy to difficult.

Beautiful trails wind along the mountainside through the wooded ancient forest to the top of the mountain where you see a one of a kind view overlooking Lake George from horseback. A few old landmarks dating back hundreds of years can be seen as you pass by.

There is nothing as beautiful as riding a horse under the majestic hemlocks and pines where it can be quite cool in the forest, so you don’t need sunglasses and may need a light jacket on cooler days. Our trails are wide with plenty of room to ride.

However, please let us make a professional decision as to what horse is given to a rider. The trail ride takes approximately an hour. NO EXCEPTIONS WEIGHT LIMIT 250 lbs If anyone in your group has any physical or mental disability, they may not be able to go on the trail ride.

Don’t ask to send someone out on the trail that is not capable of controlling their horse, paying attention and being alert the entire time while riding a horse. It is extremely important the Office Staff is notified before you sign up to ride the trail.

Vacations at our Colorado dude ranch adapt to the seasons, taking advantage of what nature has to offer us high up in the mountains. In the summers, you’ll spend your time riding horses among the wildflowers or wading in Willow Creek to catch your first fish.

In the winters, snow blankets our mountainsides, creating some of the best slopes in the west for skiing and tubing. With on-site activities such as trap shooting, archery, mountain biking and plenty of indoor games, you’ll find yourself wishing you had just one more day at the ranch.

There is an authentic dude ranch out west where the Colorado River runs off the Continental Divide and winds its way through mountain valleys. It’s a land of green meadows, blue skies, and crisp Colorado air.

Things have changed some since the early days, but the history of horseback riding, fly-fishing, and Colorado family vacations remain a stronghold of tradition that passes down from one generation to the next. Since 1919, the C Lazy U guest ranch in Colorado has been celebrated around the world for its rich history, rustic elegance, legendary cuisine, and signature service.
