Keep riding no matter what Mother Natures brings Muddy Creek rain gear is cool in hot weather, light weight, dry and large enough to wear jackets under if necessary.
Wore my Muddy Creek long slicker on a cattle drive in WY in Sept 2019. About 2 hours from camp the weather turned; went from drizzle to rain to snow to sleet & sideways at about 30mph.
Wore my Muddy Creek rain chaps over my Muck boots the rest of the week. Chaps attach to my regular belt so “personal breaks” were quick & easy, and they were every bit as tough in the trees & brush as the pair of leather chaps I borrowed the first couple of days.
(I also have the shorter version of the slicker & I wear that all year long as my go-to rain coat!) I have the short raincoat and two dog coats for my two yellow labs.
Plus, the underbelly band does a great job of keeping the mud off of their belly. My Muddy Creek coat and SSG Waterproof Gloves were a blessing.
In October 2007 with a forecast for a chance of rain, I tied my slicker on the back of my saddle before heading over the ridge to a local rancher’s fall cattle gathering. After gathering 250+ head of cattle out of the large pasture (2000-4000 acres in MT) several cowboys settled in to separating them while the rest of us headed up into the mountains to look for and pick up any strays.
We hauled our horses 5-6 miles from the ranch over to the base of the mountains, then headed up for about an hour when the weather suddenly turned. The temperature dropped from about 55° to about 35° and the wind picked up to about 40 mph making it feel like 2°.
Thanks to my Muddy Creek Raincoat, I stayed warm enough to finish the gathering and spend a couple of hours around the campfire that evening. I look forward to many years filled with thousands of miles of riding with my Muddy Creek Raincoat along as standard equipment.
I have had, probably, six raincoats, ponchos or whatever else was supposed to keep the rain off me. The rubber coat and pants were hotter than heck, then along came Muddy Creek’s raincoats.
How I wish I had had one when I was sitting in Luzerne camp, waiting to leave, looking at hail piling up on my horse’s mane. The trails were running water like creeks that day, and I was totally soaked.
Thankfully, there are a lot of stylish, high-quality horse riding jeans on the market for men, women, and children. Riding jeans should be a bit loose, so that you can move your legs freely to get up into the saddle.
They are made from a perfect blend of cotton, spandex, and polyester, which gives them just enough stretch without sacrificing durability. The mid rise of these jeans ensures a perfect fit when on the saddle, without having to worry about any sort of wardrobe malfunctions.
Great for horseback riding Zipper closure Various colors and lengths 99% Cotton/1% Spandex We really love this pair of jeans as they are made from reinforced stitching, premium denim and 2% spandex which gives them the perfect amount of stretch.
The entire line of Cowgirl Tuff jeans are designed in 4 lengths and 15 waist sizes, and made to fit every day, real women. Cowgirl Tuff is a country western, American clothing brand which has transformed from a small, home based clothing business into one of the most popular brand names in western gear.
These jeans are quite popular in the equestrian riding world, and after trying them on, the comfort might surprise you. The first thing that you may notice is that the fabric feels more substantial, or tougher, than many other pairs of jeans.
The added toughness and durability of these jeans means that they will last for many years of riding. These aren’t skinny jeans, and are made for all day riding comfort.
Best horse riding jeans for men 100% Cotton No-rub comfort inseams Various colors When shopping for a great pair of horse riding jeans, there are a few factors that you should consider.
While it is OK in the short term for new riders to wear their everyday jeans while riding, they are usually not ideal. Your everyday jeans also likely are not able to handle the rigors of horse riding, so will likely wear out sooner rather than later.
You want to make sure that your new jeans are both relevant and trendy, especially when you are involved with the world of horse shows and competitions. Just remember that no matter which pair you select, make sure that you check the sizing and read reviews very carefully.
