Assassin's Creed Valhalla Alexander The BEST & Only Horse Mount You Need to Get it THIS WEEK ONLY! In the open world of Assassin’s Creed Valhalla, riding a horse is a faster way to navigate it.
You can explore more areas which will eventually let you unlock fast travel points. Alternatively, you can select the horse icon on the Quick Actions Wheel.
Console players can whistle or call horse with the left button on the D-pad. When you arrive at an area where you want to navigate on foot, simply dismount by holding C. If you hold Z, your horse will follow the road and if you press C while mounted, you can crouch on the horse.
Apart from navigation, horse riding will come in handy during situations where you need to escape or leave an intense combat. Lastly, make sure to scout the surrounding environment using the Raven’s Eye View.
This ranch has helped me heal and learn to ride at the same time. This page of the Assassin's Creed: Valhalla game guide describes how to unlock your horse / mount.
The horse is very useful in Assassin's Creed: Valhalla, as there are very vast lands to explore and it would take a lot of time to complete this on foot. In order to summon your horse, you have to hold the left direction key on the pad to use the louder whistle option.
They can be useful e.g. when you want to quickly start a horse chase or escape and don't want to waste valuable seconds on summoning your own mount. After completing the initial missions in Norway, Ivor will go to England with other Vikings.
The mount is available from the very beginning of exploring England and you don't have to worry about if the animal managed to make it through the long journey. The horse is also always available if you have used the quick travel option to move to another location in the game world.
A single press of the circle / B will make Ivor crouch on horseback, which is a useful move if you plan to e.g. jump from the horse onto a passing opponent and kill them with a hidden blade, for instance. You can visit the game store and buy new horses by paying for them in Helix Credits purchased for real money.
The first two training sessions are particularly useful as they teach the horse how to swim and increase its stamina so that you can travel longer at a gallop. While there are plenty of cool horses to choose from, nothing quite beats riding an enormous wolf into battle, and that’s where Hat comes in.
Unfortunately, it’s only available for those who purchased the Berserk er Gear Pack, which was part of the Collectors and Ultimate editions of the game. The only other in-game location it might pop-up in the future would be Red’s shop, which rotates items on a daily/weekly basis in exchange for Opal.
Red will join your settlement after you reach level 3 or so, and he offers you contracts for rewards, as well as a rotating selection of special items. Starting the Asgard quest line requires you to reach settlement level 4 and build Valley’s Seer tent.

That’s why I was particularly excited to add this majestic bird to Assassin’s Creed Valhalla. Image: Ubisoft Montreal/Ubisoft via Polygon To unlock the pigeon, you have to own Assassin’s Creed Valhalla, of course, and also be an Amazon Prime subscriber.
After leaving Norway and reaching England, Assassin's Creed Valhalla gives you the opportunity to expand your own settlement. This is an important part of the gameplay, providing access to upgrades, new items or even tasks.
The tree will enable you to follow the process of identification and elimination of individual people. This in turn contributes to the acquisition of special medallions, thanks to which you will receive new skills.
The blacksmith is closely related to the game elements, which we have described in detail on separate pages of the guide: Now all you have to do is go over a body of water and pick the rod from the quick selection menu.
In barrack, you can manage your crew, namely recruit and replace Vikings participating in raids. This is a special character, whose weapons are decided by you, enabling you to improve the warrior's value on the battlefield.
UbisoftWell, after about 35 hours or so, it’s time to set Assassin’s Creed Valhalla down for a while. Not because I’m done, no way, this game is going to be at least 50-60 hours minimum, but because it’s a crazy launch week and I need to also play Destiny, God fall, Spider-Man, Call of Duty and like twelve other games, even with Cyberpunk’s delay from next week.
But I have gotten to play a lot of it, so I figured it was time to dole out some advice for those of you who may just be starting out with either Series X launch two days ago or on PS5 today. Once again, Ubisoft offers you a gender choice, only this time it’s woven into the narrative in a weird way, rather than just being a split between brother and sister like Syndicate or Odyssey.
One thing I think Assassin’s Creed Valhalla does wrong is that it hides 95% of the skill tree and makes you discover it as you go, meaning it is impossible to actually plan builds ahead of time using the constellation. There are melee, assassin and ranged paths, but even within those are skills you may want or need in a different play style.
Ubisoft loot system has shifted quite a bit from the gear and levels of AC Odyssey where you were constantly swapping things out. Every piece of gear in AC Valhalla is unique, and can be upgraded over the course of the entire game.
There are essentially three tiers of upgrade materials, and it seems like Valhalla has crammed in enough materials around the map for you to be able to upgrade the quality of every piece of gear you find to the max, so don’t sit around hoarding stuff if you have gear that you like. Ubisoft has proudly proclaimed that they are going back to allowing you to assassinate all enemies of every level in Valhalla, but in order to do that, you will need one skill in particular, Advanced Assassination, which is a short ways south-west down the skill tree, if you reference that other chart.
This creates a little mini-game that will allow you to assassinate and one-shot high level enemies by doing a little Ate that is not terribly hard. My other piece of advice is that it can be fun to not to anything remotely covert or assassin-y this entire game and run around like the Viking berserk er you are.
Bonus : I wanted to add one final thing to this list, as I thought of it after the fact. You can come back to Norway later, don’t worry about that, but I fear you may think the game is dull and boring if you spend the first ten hours there, before you really get a sense of Ivor as a character, the overall storyline and start the core of the game, which is building up your settlement in England.
The story will take you back to Norway naturally eventually, but there’s just no reason to explore every aspect of it before you leave. I took a break after a few territories and went back to Norway and got some stuff and points of interest cleared, but again, I still didn’t do the whole thing, plus the north is a very high level zone you shouldn’t really even be in initially, even if it’s technically possible to go there.
Located by the sea and with a whopping 18 mysteries, East Anglia is a bit of a challenge to get through. If you are missing just one or haven't even started it yet, check out this guide for all the information you need in Assassin's Creed Valhalla.
Scavenge. Our first Mystery this time around is Scavenge, a standing stone puzzle in the middle of a bog. “This Mystery has you fight Began, and they are pretty tough.
They are reasonably fast and dual-wield weapons, making combos a sure thing. Silver can be earned very quickly from looting and raiding settlements.
Talk to them, maybe give them a little of silver, and leave. Heights and psychedelia is not a good Mathis is probably the most complex Psychedelic Mystery you will have seen thus far.
Keep hitting the Odin-Sight until the Mystery pops up on your screen as a blue mark. Light the candle and break the pot to reveal the Treasure.
Duck into the grass and keep moving away from the seeker until they eventually give up. Loot the arrows and then just sell them to her to finish this Mystery.
To complete this Mystery, you have to head on over to the horse and bring it to the girl. In case you are levelled enough (or brave enough) for this, take on Thor the fishmonger.
Make sure to conserve your stamina for a quick roll away. “In yet another hard fight against someone with a name from King Lear, this time you take on Cordelia.
Cordelia has a short-range teleport but generally slower attacks than the previous fight. Her biggest strength is wide swings and big lunges.
Wait for her to attack and launch a quick counterattack to deal with her. Jesus Christ! Nuns are everywhere in this game, and this Mystery is no exception.
Speak to her afterward, and she will die, completing the Mystery. Life's a glitch. We couldn't go an entire region without another animus anomaly.
Make your way upwards by climbing the blue blocks and watch out for the moving ones. If one moves, let it complete its entire cycle before getting on so you can know where to jump next.
Lifeblood. This one will place you in awkward position between a farmer and her potion maker. Analyze the blood on the floor and follow it downhill to find a woman half collapsed.
