A kilo bit is 1,000 bits, though in the binary system, it is designated as 1024 bits due to the amount of space required to store a kilo bit using common operating systems and storage schemes. For simplicity, however, most people think of kilo as referring to 1,000 to more easily remember what a kilo bit is.

Networking is usually the first challenge someone unfamiliar with endangers encounters. When receiving bytes from a TCP socket, one usually stores them into an array.
In this case, we see that to collect the correct number $$511 on the other end of the connection, we had to reverse the order of the bytes in memory.
